Spring is a time for a refresh

Spring is right around the corner and I for one couldn’t be happier. The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer and everything, myself included, just seems to feel a bit brighter!

Actually, I find the change of seasons fascinating.

I love that Mother Nature in all of her infinite wisdom, realized that every few months, a girl needs to change things up!

For my Northeast girls….could you imagine not getting to switch out your cute booties for adorable sandals? The HORROR!

But in all seriousness, when I was thinking about how the seasons update and change, it made me wonder if I should update myself and my business in the coming months.

Warm weather, sunshine and cute spring jumpsuits and rompers make me want to live my best life!

So, maybe it’s time to do a little spring cleaning. But not in the way you would expect. I’m thinking of something a little bit different.

I think as we usher in spring, why not usher in an enhanced version of ourselves?

I know a lot of people use the term “makeover” but I actually prefer the idea of refreshing ourselves. Basically, approaching this as if we are re-branding our lives.

Why? I think it is a more powerful and positive approach to making changes in your life.

You see, there is nothing wrong with how we are now, but sometimes, like Mother Nature, we just want to change things up, keep people guessing, and inspire ourselves along the way!

It’s ok to want to upgrade yourself, to refresh your life and your approach to your relationships and your business.

And I have decided this season of spring should be our season of rebranding. For life, business and attitude!

You guys know that old saying, your vibe attracts your tribe, right? I mean if you are on social media then you have seen it used a million and one times.

But stop and think about that for a second.

The kind of woman you are, is what attracts people to you.

And that goes beyond just friendships. It also means business partners, clients and/or customers and other unique opportunities!

So as the season starts to change, it’s important to think about how we show up in the world.

It’s also important to think about what we need to let go of and what actions may not be serving our best interests. Which frankly, can be hard.

But in order to make room for new, we have to remove the old habits and limiting beliefs. Hence the spring cleaning!

Are you being true to the woman you WANT to be?

So to identify what areas of our lives might need an update, a refresh or a rebrand, ask yourself the following:

  • Am I treating my body well? Is the way I fuel, hydrate, exercise and rest my body aligning with the way I want to live and feel?
  • Am I dressing as the woman I want to be? Does my personal style accurately represent my goals in life and/or business?
  • Am I showing up in the relationships that are important to me? Am I holding onto relationships that no longer serve me?
  • Is the way I am currently living, supporting the lifestyle I want to live?
  • Am I happy with what I am doing with my life personally and professionally?
  • Do I know where I am headed?
  • Do I feel worthy of success and happiness?

Take your time with these questions and answer them as honestly as you can. What do you see in your answers?

Do your actions align with the woman you want to be? Is it possible you see areas that could use a little attention?

If you find that you do in fact want to make some changes, make a plan for yourself! The following questions can help you identify what you need to do and where you might trip up.

  • What steps do I need to take to make this change?
  • Who will support me?
  • What will get in my way?
  • How committed am I to making this happen?

What I have learned over the last year is that being intentional with our thoughts and actions can be the difference between living life and thriving in life.

And remember ladies, you’re not fully dressed until you sparkle!
