hire a business coach

Over the last few weeks I have been asked several times what exactly a business coach can do for a small business owner or entrepreneur.

Truthfully, there are tons of benefits of having a business coach and frankly I believe all entrepreneurs should have one! I thought it would be helpful to outline some of the reasons why a business coach is such an important part of the process for an entrepreneur. This list is based on what I have found to be most impactful for my clients and their businesses!

A properly trained coach can help you reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed in your business and lessen your sense of being unsure, scared or fearful of taking the next step.

The right coach will help you learn the skills you need to be successful and grow your business!

Here are 7 ways a business coach can help you and your business shine.

Gain clarity and direction. When you are an entrepreneur you can often feel like you want to try every idea you have in hopes that one of them may be the one that takes your business and life to the next level. A coach can help you separate the good ideas from the great ones and then map out a plan to turn those great ideas into real money making initiatives.

Get motivated. Ever felt stuck in your business and unmotivated, uninterested and just kind of “over it”? Well, I know I’ve been there myself but a coach can help you get unstuck. Coaches can help you to uncover the real reasons behind why you don’t want to work on your business. It can be a variety of reasons from simply needing to revamp your schedule to avoid burn out to uncovering a lack of passion for the business or even the clients you serve. Despite the reasons why you are unmotivated, your coach will work with you to create a solution that gets you back on track and back in business!

Learn new things. Sometimes we do the same things over and over again hoping for a new result. But that result never seems to come. Any one relate to that? Well, it’s not your fault, you don’t know what you don’t know. A business coach can introduce you to new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new strategies to try that you may not even have know existed.

Stay accountable. Any small business owner or entrepreneur knows that life is busy and the to-do list can be long and overwhelming. A coach can help you identify the vital tasks that need to be accomplished to achieve your goals and then hold you accountable to them! “What did you accomplish this week”, or “Are you making progress on your goals” are standard questions any coach will ask at the beginning of a session. I dont know about you guys, but if I know someone is going to be asking me if I did something, you bet your ass I’m going to get it done!

Build confidence. A coach is your champion. They are in your corner giving you the tools, resources and support you need to move ahead with confidence. Your coach is an expert so you can trust their support will take you to the next level. They can push you to get out of your comfort zone and help you unlock the potential you have within. A coach will also give you an unbiased opinion and won’t hesitate to tell you when something is not right. So you can trust that they have your best interests at heart.

Gain a confidante. The job of a coach is to understand the ins and outs of your business. And they are held to a code of ethics that requires them to keep conversations confidential. So you are able to share your honest thoughts and concerns about your business. A coach can be your sounding board and help you problem solve the issues you face.

Earn more money. Simply stated, a coach will make you more money. They will streamline your process, help you work more efficiently and give you the strategy you need for getting from point A to point B.

Running a business is hard. Doing it alone can feel impossible. Hiring a business coach can be like hiring a best friend who also has an expert opinion on your business. A coach will be someone you can count on to share valuable resources, provide tools of the trade, be an ear to listen and a cheerleader to keep you going! Hiring a coach will certainly take your business to the next level.

So I challenge you to interview a few coaches, find out their approach and style and then hire the one that is right for you. Your business and your life will thrive as a result!

And remember ladies, you’re not fully dressed until you sparkle!
